Meteocat, Catalonia's meteorological service, has issued a danger warning for storms across 11 regions in northern and central Catalonia, including Vall d'Aran and Osona, for Monday, 27 April 2026. Forecasts indicate moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms from late morning until evening, with a chance of hail in some areas.
The warning, rated 1 out of 6 for danger, anticipates rainfall exceeding 20 millimetres in 30 minutes. The affected regions are Vall d'Aran, Alta Ribagorça, Pallars Sobirà, Pallars Jussà, Alt Urgell, Cerdanya, Solsonès, Berguedà, Ripollès, Garrotxa, and Osona, according to Meteocat.
Weather Outlook for Monday
Showers and downpours are primarily expected in the Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees, particularly the eastern parts, with isolated occurrences elsewhere inland. The rain will be accompanied by thunderstorms and, locally, hail is possible. Minimum temperatures are predicted to be slightly higher than the weekend, while maximum temperatures will remain similar, reaching up to 29°C in Ponent and the interior of the Ebro valley.
The sky will be partly cloudy, or locally half-cloudy, with bands of high and medium clouds. From mid-morning until evening, clouds will develop in the Pyrenees, Pre-Pyrenees, the rest of the north-east interior, and the northern Central Depression, making the sky very cloudy to overcast.
Weekend Rainfall Summary
This follows a weekend of widespread rain across much of Catalonia. The most significant rainfall on Sunday was recorded in Solsonès, with approximately 20 litres per square metre. Most other locations saw between 5 and 10 litres, officials said.
