Manresa, Valls and Vic have launched a joint programme, Baroque Spring, to promote their shared baroque art and heritage across Catalonia. The initiative runs from May to September and brings together cultural proposals in the three inland cities.

The programme was presented this week at the Saló del Vigatà in Palau Moja, Barcelona. Attendees included Joaquim Borràs, Director General of Cultural Heritage for the Department of Culture, and the culture councillors for each city, Tània Infante for Manresa, Rosa M. Rovira for Valls and Bet Piella for Vic. Dani Font Montanyà, the episcopal delegate for Cultural Heritage of the Diocese of Vic, also attended.

The alliance involves the Catalan Cultural Heritage Agency and aims to strengthen the profile of Catalan baroque art. Officials said the programme will bring together three separate projects focused on baroque art and heritage, running at the same time in the three cities.

Further details on events and exhibitions are expected as the programme continues through the summer months. Readers can follow more local coverage on our news page.
