Lleida’s mental health clinic on Avinguda Rovira Roure 116 was preventatively evacuated on Saturday afternoon after a fire started in one of its rooms.
The incident happened at 6.06pm. Six fire brigade units, local police and emergency medical services attended the building. Staff at the centre carried out the initial evacuation of patients present at the time.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, then ventilated and inspected the premises. No one was injured, and all patients were able to return to their rooms.
The fire came after a container blaze in Lleida’s Cappont neighbourhood the previous day, at the junction of Doctora Castells and Riu Ebre streets. Firefighters and local police dealt with that incident, and officials suspect it may have been deliberately set.
Earlier in the week, two vehicles caught fire, one on Rambla Ferran and another in the Clot neighbourhood. A restaurant on Carrer Darrere Sant Martí also had a fire on the same day.
