Manresa will host a screening of the documentary "Sal a la ferida" (Salt in the Wound) this Friday, 8 May, at 6pm. The film looks at the impact of Israel Chemicals Limited (ICL) operations and the ongoing water conflict in Catalonia.
The screening will take place in the main hall of the Centre Cultural el Casino in Manresa. Directed by Lee Beritutti, the documentary explores the environmental and social consequences of ICL's mining activities, particularly concerning water management.
Expert Discussion on Mining Impact
Following the film, a discussion will be held with experts and activists. Participants include Arnau Carné from Boicot ICL, Nora Miralles from the Centre Delàs Observatory, and Jordi Badia from Montserrat. They will offer different perspectives on the extractive model and its effects on the region.
The event aims to encourage reflection and discussion on a significant issue for the Bages region and Catalonia: the management of saline waste and its impact on the natural environment. Several social and cultural organisations support the initiative. It is part of a series of activities designed to bring complex environmental issues to the public with a critical and informative approach.
