Around 50 people gathered in Manresa's Plaça Major on Thursday at 7pm to protest the interception of a humanitarian flotilla by Israeli authorities. The demonstration followed a call from the Global Summit Flotilla after 175 activists and 22 vessels were stopped by Tel Aviv authorities. The interception occurred 54 nautical miles from Crete and 671 miles from Israel.

The protest in Manresa, part of a wider call for demonstrations outside town halls across Catalonia, saw participants display Palestinian flags and a banner supporting Palestine and opposing ICL. Speakers at the brief event echoed arguments from the recent 'Revoltes de la Terra' protest, blaming ICL for its alleged support of the Israeli army and for river pollution in the Bages region.

Calls for Embargo and EU Action

Demonstrators also called for an arms embargo against Israel and urged the European Union to take a clearer stance on the issue. The gathering highlighted local concerns about international conflicts and their perceived connections to corporate actions.
