Manresa’s Pere III promenade hosted around 70 microcars on Sunday morning for the 20th International Microcar Meet, organised by the Clàssic Motor Club del Bages. The gathering also marked the 70th anniversary of the PTV, a vehicle designed and manufactured entirely in Manresa between 1956 and 1961.

More than a hundred people attended the second section of the promenade, despite the early schedule from 8:30am to 10am. Visitors came to see a wide range of vehicles that had travelled from different parts of Europe.

The PTV has a notable place in Manresa’s local history, as production ended in 1961 after a short but important run. Its design and manufacture in the city reflect a period of local automotive innovation that the annual meet helps keep in public view.

The Clàssic Motor Club del Bages has played a key role in preserving the history of these compact vehicles. The international meet gives owners a place to show their cars and offers the public a chance to see microcars from across the continent, according to organisers.
