L'Escola Bages in Manresa has launched a new children's book, "El Xar i la Pandi viatgen per la cultura i les tradicions catalanes" (Xar and Pandi Travel Through Catalan Culture and Traditions), aimed at introducing children to Catalan traditions. The book, featuring two giants on a cultural journey, was presented on Wednesday afternoon at the school's library.
The project was developed by the children of the centre themselves. They worked with Xavier Valls, a former philosophy teacher at the Pius Font i Quer institute, who helped shape the narrative. Jaume Gubianes provided the illustrations for the story.
Bringing Culture to Young Readers
The book's central theme follows its two giant protagonists as they explore various aspects of Catalan culture and traditions. This approach helps make complex cultural elements accessible and engaging for a young audience, according to school officials.
The presentation took place at 4:45pm at the school's library, an event open to the public. This initiative reflects a broader effort to connect local children with their heritage through creative and collaborative projects.
