A man was injured with a bladed weapon at Barcelona’s La Pau metro station in the early hours of Sunday after trying to break up a large fight, according to Mossos d’Esquadra sources speaking to EFE.
The incident happened around 3am on the L4 line. About 20 people were involved in the brawl for reasons that have not been made public. The man, who was in the station but not part of the fight, tried to mediate between the two groups.
During that intervention, he was stabbed in the gluteus. He was then taken to a Barcelona hospital for treatment.
When Mossos d’Esquadra officers arrived, the people involved had already left the station. No arrests were made at the time, police sources said.
