Mossos d'Esquadra officers arrested a man on Saturday morning in Esplugues de Llobregat, near Barcelona, as the suspected perpetrator of a woman's violent death. The incident occurred on Joan Miró street, according to a police statement.

Emergency services received an alert via the 112 line at approximately 11am, reporting that a man had injured a woman in the street and then fled the scene. Police and Sistema d'Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) units responded, but were unable to save the victim's life.

Investigation Underway

According to El País, the woman had been stabbed and sustained knife wounds to her neck, chest, and abdomen. The suspect was later located and arrested by police. The Mossos d'Esquadra's Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) has taken charge of the enquiry, which is currently under a secrecy order.
