A man was arrested on Friday in Esplugues de Llobregat, Baix Llobregat, in connection with the alleged murder of his wife. The 46-year-old woman died after being stabbed in the street on 2 May, according to police sources.
The incident took place on Carrer de la Ciutat de Lleida, in the La Salut neighbourhood of Esplugues de Llobregat. The victim was rushed to Sant Joan Despí Hospital but died shortly after undergoing surgery.
Police confirmed the arrest of the woman's partner on Friday morning. He had fled the scene after the attack. The Mossos d'Esquadra, Catalonia's police force, are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
