Mossos d'Esquadra are investigating a security guard in Lleida after a client was left unconscious following an alleged assault. The victim claims the incident, which occurred outside a pub in the city's Zona Alta, was racially motivated.

The 24-year-old man was hospitalised for 18 hours with a cranial trauma after being pushed, according to police sources. The security guard has been called for questioning as part of the investigation, with proceedings to be sent to court.

The incident took place around 0:30 on Friday outside the Traganits music bar on Carrer Darrere Sant Martí. The client attempted to enter the venue, but the security guard reportedly told him, "You cannot enter."

Victim's Account and Injuries

The young man stated he repeatedly asked why he was denied entry. "He told me the owners had told him no," the victim explained. "I've been there other times without any problem. I insisted on the reason for the prohibition. Without saying anything else, he gave me a strong push, I hit my head on the ground and lost consciousness for about half an hour."

Both the Guàrdia Urbana and the SEM emergency services attended the scene. The man was taken by ambulance to Arnau de Vilanova hospital, where he remained until 18:50. His medical report detailed a cranial trauma, headache, nausea, and otorrhagia, which is bleeding from the ear canal.

After being discharged, the victim reported the assault to the Mossos d'Esquadra, who also received the incident report from the Guàrdia Urbana. The young man told Segre that he sees "only one reason behind the aggression, a veto due to racism."

Pub Owner Denies Racism Claims

The Mossos d'Esquadra have opened proceedings and summoned the security guard for questioning. Once completed, the investigation will be sent to the court. The owner of the Traganits pub stated that "the events took place outside and I did not see what happened. The security guard belongs to a company we have contracted."

The owner denied any racist motivations for denying entry, claiming the young man "was drunk, became aggressive, and was not dressed appropriately." The investigation continues to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
