Lleida’s Paeria has approved a €1,913,927.53 plan to resurface 25 road sections across the city, as part of the 2026 urban road maintenance programme. The council says the work is aimed at improving road safety and the condition of the local network.

The project falls under the Municipal Action Programme for maintaining urban roads and rural paths. It is split into three work lots and covers main streets and junctions in different parts of Lleida.

The first lot includes sections of the N-230 and N-240, Avinguda Rosa Parks near CAP Balàfia-Pardinyes-Secà, Carrer del Corregidor Escofet, the Sundial Roundabout, Pont de la Universitat, Plaça Espanya and Avinguda de Blondel. It also covers several junctions and streets including Carrer Bonaire, Carrer Pleyan de Porta, Carrer de l’Albi, Carrer de Ramon Argilés, Carrer Frederic Riu Farré and Carrer Aribau.

The second lot focuses on the LL-11, Carrer d’Osca, Pont Vell, Carrer de Valentí Almirall, Carrer del Bisbe Messeguer, the roundabout of Corregidor Escofet with Comtes d’Urgell, Carrer Comtes d’Urgell and Avinguda de Tortosa. The third lot includes work on the N-240 from the roundabout of Carrer Antoni Guix i Ribelles to the C13 roundabout, and on the LL-11 between the roundabouts with Avinguda de l’Estudi General and Avinguda de Victoriano Muñoz.

The works will include milling damaged pavement, replacing the road surface, levelling elements such as manhole covers and kerbs, renewing signs, bollards and beacons, and repainting horizontal markings. The expected completion time is five months from the contract award, and the project is now open for public information for 30 days, according to the council.

In a separate decision, the Paeria has also agreed to apply for a grant from the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs and Agenda 2030 to support feline colony control in the municipality. The council is seeking €41,784.93 for the project, titled “Implementation of comprehensive management of community cats in Lleida neighbourhoods”, against a total budget of €48,164.05. The scheme would fund Trap-Neuter-Return work, veterinary care, improved living conditions and public awareness campaigns. More local news
