Lleida’s La Panera Art Centre opened its second block of 2026 exhibitions on 9 June, with four new projects on view to the public from 13 June to 4 October. The programme places contemporary art in dialogue with research, reading, and reflection on current issues.
The centre says the season strengthens its role as a space for creation, research, and critical thought in contemporary art. The exhibitions address social inequalities, borders, territory, the cultural construction of nature, knowledge transmission, and interpretation processes.
Curated by Andrea Pacheco González, Manuela Pedrón Nicolau, and Helena Ayuso, the shows feature work by Todo por la Praxis, Mariona Moncunill, Martina Rogers, and ferranElOtro. They are spread across the Ground Floor, First Floor, miniPanera Space, and the Documentation Centre.
On the Ground Floor, Un jardí extraordinari by Todo por la Praxis, curated by Andrea Pacheco González, uses the garden as a way to discuss borders, social exclusion, migration, and housing rights. The installation combines photography, sculpture, video, drawing, and sound.
On the First Floor, En els dies tempestuosos [un mètode] by Mariona Moncunill, curated by Manuela Pedrón Nicolau, looks at how societies build knowledge about territory and ecosystems. It focuses on the Urgell canal, agricultural memory, and Lleida’s climatic vulnerability, and is part of a long-term project co-produced by La Panera and La Casa Encendida in Madrid.
In the miniPanera Space, Martina Rogers presents L’escalf de les coses belles, curated by Helena Ayuso, which links art, nature, imagination, and matter through ceramic objects, amulets, and figures. The Documentation Centre hosts Les dames de la llum by Mariona Moncunill, curated by ferranElOtro, with editorial production and exhibition communication devices at the centre of the work.
The programme also includes workshops, family activities, guided tours, audiovisual screenings, and community mediation actions. La Panera says it continues to support projects linking art and education with local schools, including work by Fernando Renes and Todo por la Praxis at the Manel de Montsuar Institute, within the Catalan Government’s Culture Department initiatives for visual arts in formal education.
