Puigcerdà, Catalonia, Cerdanya Hospital reported its highest activity level since opening in 2014, according to its 2025 annual report. The cross-border hospital recorded a 128% increase in care for patients from Alta Cerdanya.

The report says the rise was also reflected in hospital stays, external consultations, imaging tests and haemodialysis sessions. The figures underline the hospital’s role in serving people across the Cerdanya and Capcir areas.

The hospital serves residents on both sides of the border, in Spain and France, and its activity has continued to grow as demand has increased. Officials said the challenge is to keep adapting services to a wider area while maintaining access for local communities.

Looking ahead, the hospital says it wants to keep improving healthcare access for residents across the region. That includes further service integration and adjustments to meet changing local needs.
