Junts per Catalunya General Secretary Jordi Turull outlined the party's strategy to build broad municipal candidacies across Catalonia, including potential alliances in Balaguer, while inaugurating a new party headquarters in Lleida. Speaking from Lleida yesterday, Mr Turull emphasised the party's "vocation to pile up and not scatter" ahead of the 2027 municipal elections.

This statement, reported by La Mañana, referred to information that Junts per Balaguer members had approved exploring talks with former PSC partners, Treballem per Balaguer, regarding future agreements. Mr Turull clarified that Junts aims to construct joint candidacies with "all those people who are infinitely more united by what brings us together than by what separates us."

He recalled that the party's National Council had ratified agreements with Impulsem Lleida and Impulsem Penedès with 99% of votes, alongside other local pacts in municipalities such as Puigcerdà, Lloret, and La Mata de Pere. "Our vocation is to sum," Mr Turull reiterated. When questioned about a possible rapprochement in Mollerussa, Mr Turull stated, "we will not talk about speculations," stressing the party's respect for local autonomy. He left the capacity for dialogue and agreement exploration in the hands of municipal groups, adding, "our people in Mollerussa talk to whoever they consider they should talk to."

New Junts Headquarters Opens in Lleida

Junts per Catalunya officially opened its new headquarters in Lleida city yesterday. Located on Jaume II street in the Cappont neighbourhood, the inauguration event was attended by General Secretary Jordi Turull, along with Deputy Jeannine Abella, vegueria president and Deputy Anna Feliu, Deputy Isidre Gavín, and party spokesperson in the Paeria, Violant Cervera. Militants and elected officials from across the demarcation also attended.

Ms Feliu highlighted the purpose of the new space, stating, "we want to be close to the people, so that everyone can come in and have their say and explain first-hand that we have solutions and proposals." The new Junts premises span 235 square metres and will serve both Lleida city and function as the vegueria headquarters. It will open in the afternoons to attend to citizens, according to Ms Feliu.

The opening of the new headquarters and Mr Turull's comments underscore Junts' ongoing efforts to consolidate political forces and expand its reach at the local level in preparation for the next municipal electoral cycle. The party anticipates that the new Lleida office will enhance its accessibility and engagement with residents.
