Granollers City Council will develop a Smart Office intended to bring together data governance, smart-city projects and artificial intelligence, after receiving a strategic project from the Diputació de Barcelona, the provincial authority, on Friday 9 October.
For Granollers residents, the plan is intended to make access to the council's digital services easier. It includes OAC360, a proposed single point of contact for municipal enquiries and procedures, as well as intelligent management of council buildings and an interactive municipal register of organisations.
The Smart Office “will make it easier for residents to access municipal digital services”, the Diputació de Barcelona said in its statement.
One strategy for data, smart-city projects and AI
The strategy delivered to the Ajuntament de Granollers, the city council, is designed to combine the management and use of council data with smart-city initiatives and artificial intelligence, according to the Diputació's announcement, reported by Europa Press on Friday.
The provincial authority did not give a launch date for the Smart Office or set out when each project will be introduced.
Projects included in the Granollers plan
- OAC360: a planned one-stop service for residents dealing with the council.
- Intelligent building management: technology-led management of municipal buildings.
- An interactive register of organisations: a digital municipal record for local entities.
Residents needing to complete an existing council procedure can consult the Ajuntament's current Oficina d'Atenció a la Ciutadania, the municipal citizen service office. The proposed OAC360 is a separate project within the new strategy.
