The Catalan government and the Girona Association of Property Administrators (CAFGi) have started a pilot programme in twenty public housing buildings across the Girona region. This initiative aims to improve the management of residents' associations, according to officials.
The programme will focus on essential services, ensuring that lifts are operational and stairwells are lit. It also seeks to prevent issues such as electricity fraud and illegal occupations within these communities, officials said.
Enhancing Public Housing Conditions
This joint effort between the Generalitat and CAFGi is designed to address common challenges faced by residents in publicly promoted housing. By streamlining administrative processes and increasing oversight, the scheme hopes to create more stable and secure living environments.
The twenty buildings selected for the pilot are located in various municipalities within the Girona region, including Girona city and Figueres. The project will monitor the effectiveness of new management protocols over the coming months.
