Thirteen people suffered mild smoke inhalation after a fire broke out in a residential block on Ronda de Ferran Puig in Girona last night. Six of those affected were taken to hospitals, with four going to Josep Trueta Hospital and two to CUAP Güell. The remaining individuals received treatment at the scene and were discharged.
Emergency services received the alert at 22:25 for the building at number 11, Ronda de Ferran Puig. The fire damaged two rooms within a third-floor flat. Six crews from the Generalitat Fire Service attended the scene and extinguished the blaze in just over twenty minutes.
Aftermath and Safety Checks
Following the fire, firefighters inspected the other flats and the stairwell of the building, ventilating the entire property. Emergency teams sealed off the affected flat due to a risk of ceiling collapse, according to officials. Once gas detector readings confirmed no further hazards, the fire service concluded their operation.
