Girona-Costa Brava Airport has strengthened its connections with the United Kingdom, launching two new routes operated by Jet2. The airport now links directly to London Gatwick and Edinburgh.

The London Gatwick service will run three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. The Edinburgh route will operate weekly on Sundays. This expansion means Girona now offers five direct connections to London, a critical market for the airport, according to officials.

Jet2's Growing Presence

The new Gatwick route reinforces Jet2's commitment to Girona. The airline already operates flights from Girona to London Luton and Stansted, alongside other UK destinations. The Edinburgh connection marks the return of a route to the Scottish capital, which Ryanair previously operated until 2021 and Jet2 until 2019.

Girona-Costa Brava Airport now serves 48 destinations across 15 countries. This season, the airport is operating five new routes in total: Bucharest, Luxembourg, Edinburgh, London Gatwick, and Palma.

Boosting International Connectivity

Airport officials said the expansion further strengthens its international connectivity. This is particularly true for links with the UK, Germany, Belgium, Ireland, and Poland. The airport aims to consolidate its role as a key entry point for the wider Girona area.
