Saturday 10 October Events

At 12:00, the bells of Santa Maria and Roser churches will ring out, followed by a rocket launch marking the official start of the festivities in Font Vella, Igualada.

At 19:00, the Anoia region's nans and capgrossos (traditional folk figures) will gather for a reception and light refreshments. This is followed at 19:30 by a parade featuring the district’s giants, accompanied by the Grallers d’Igualada and Associació Cultural Dessota. The route runs through Roser Street, Pius XII Square, Santa Maria Street, Ajuntament Square, Born Street, Pilar Square, Sant Cristòfol Street, Sant Jordi Street, Rei Square, Concepció Street, Custiol Street and back to Roser Street.

At 20:30, each participating group will perform their traditional dances to conclude the evening.


Sunday 11 October Events

At 10:30, the 34th Diada de la Puntaire takes place in the old town quarter, showcasing intricate handmade lace by local and regional artisans. Attendees will receive a free coca, a bottle of water, a traditional gift from Igualada Town Hall and a courtesy item from 1915 ORIGINAL. In case of rain, the event moves to Escolàpies.

At 21:30, the 19th edition of the 'Sopar a la Fresca' will be held in Pius XII Square. For €15, guests can enjoy anchovies with tomato bread, wine, coca, and burnt rum. Tickets are available at Pastisseria Targarona until all 150 seats are sold. The event will move indoors to Escolàpies if it rains.

At 22:30, maritime folk group La Vella Lola will perform havaneras and sea waltzes in Pius XII Square, following the dinner.


Monday 12 October Events

At 08:00, the Grallers de Sitges will perform morning serenades to wake the neighbourhood.

At 11:00, the district's giants, flag and lantern will lead a procession from the Roser church to Santa Maria Basilica for a solemn mass. The procession includes Associació Cultural Dessota and the Grallers de Sitges.

At 11:30, a Solemn Mass will be celebrated at Santa Maria Basilica, led by archpriest Eduard Flores. Music is provided by organist Pol Aceña, vocalist Núria Mas and choir director Margarida Roca. The district’s hymn will be played on the organ at the end.

After Mass, the giants will remain near the chapel at Nostra Senyora de la O Street, corner of Pilar Square, where floral and lantern offerings can be made to the Virgin of Pilar on 11 and 12 October.

At 12:30, the Danny Louis Jr. Quartet will perform swing jazz, blues and old-time rhythms in Pilar Square, with vocals and percussion by Sergio Rojas, guitar and banjo by James Calderón, double bass by Javier Rojas and trumpet by Santiago Fernández.

At 17:30, a popular chocolate and bread-sharing event for children takes place in Pius XII Square, courtesy of Pastisseria Targarona.

At 18:00, family entertainer Marc Oriol presents a children’s show featuring music, circus and songs in Pius XII Square.


Thursday 15 and Saturday 17 October

On 15 October at 19:00, a Mass for the Dead will be held at Roser church, officiated by Monsignor Eduard Flores.

The festivities conclude on Saturday 17 October with the 30th Flea Market and 5th Opportunity and Exchange Market in Pius XII Square from 10:00 to 14:00. Local shops will host street promotions, and residents can bring antiques, clothing or unused items to sell or swap. From 12:00 to 14:00 on 17 October, the Punt de Partida association will host a morning of family games in Pius XII Square.
