Foment Empresarial del Camp de Tarragona (FOET), a new business association, has officially launched in Tarragona. It aims to continue the work of the now-defunct Confederació Empresarial de la Província de Tarragona (Cepta).
Cepta is currently in liquidation after its insolvency administration determined that its survival was unviable due to insurmountable debt. FOET was established in September 2025 but has operated discreetly until its public announcement today, 11 May 2026.
Representing Tarragona Businesses
The new organisation intends to act as a lobby for the Tarragona region, advocating for the interests of local businesses. Its formation follows a period of uncertainty for business representation in the area after Cepta's financial difficulties became public.
FOET's emergence provides a new platform for companies in the Camp de Tarragona to collectively address economic challenges and opportunities. The association's leadership is expected to outline its specific objectives and action plans in the coming weeks, focusing on regional economic development and support for its members.
