Five people have been arrested in Barcelona's Sant Martí district following a joint operation by the Guàrdia Urbana and Mossos d’Esquadra against drug trafficking. The police operation took place on Wednesday, 29 April, with officers raiding three flats where activities linked to public health offences had been reported.
According to municipal sources, one of the properties was a regular point for drug sales. This activity caused significant problems for local residents, including issues of coexistence, insalubrity, and insecurity in the neighbourhood.
Seizures and Investigation Details
Officers from the Guàrdia Urbana's Sant Martí Investigation Unit, working with the Catalan police, seized 150 grams of cocaine, 21 single doses of heroin, and €21,100 in cash. They also found precision scales and other tools used for distributing narcotics. In addition, three firearms with ammunition were discovered during the raids.
This operation followed months of investigation. After the arrests and seizures, technicians boarded up the drug flat where the substances were being distributed, effectively closing it down.
