Fair Reopens Monday with Five-Day Extension

The 20th Fira del Vehicle d’Ocasió de Figueres (FiraVO) will extend its run until Friday 9 October after heavy rains forced the cancellation of Sunday’s planned activities. The Ajuntament de Figueres and participating car dealers agreed to prolong the event following restrictions imposed by the Generalitat due to severe weather. The fair, originally scheduled from Friday 2 to Sunday 4 October, will now reopen on Monday 5 October at the Recinte Firal de Figueres. It will remain open daily from 10:00 to 20:00 through Friday.

Rain Disrupts Weekend Schedule

Strong rainfall led to mobility and activity restrictions across several Catalan comarques. The fair closed at 20:00 on Saturday 3 October, in line with the Generalitat’s emergency measures. Although initial plans allowed for reopening at 14:00 on Sunday 4 October, the government extended restrictions in Alt Empordà and Baix Empordà until 21:00 that day due to hydrological risks from rising river levels. This decision, confirmed by the Generalitat’s public announcements, resulted in the full cancellation of Sunday’s programme at FiraVO.

The extension ensures dealers can recover lost time and visitors still have a chance to attend.

20th Edition Features Over 500 Vehicles

The 2026 edition marks the twentieth anniversary of the event, which has become the longest-running used vehicle fair in the Girona region. This year’s fair occupies 6,000 square metres and features more than 500 vehicles from 16 dealerships, including electric, hybrid, combustion, nearly new, and ex-display models. Participating companies include Turismes Figueres (Volvo), Optimcar (Jaecoo, Omoda, Opel, Suzuki, Mazda), Garatge Plana (Mercedes), Grup Espígol (Nissan, Renault, Dacia, Toyota, Lexus, Infiniti, Maxus, KGM), Garatge Sala (Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Abarth, Jeep), Texauto (Kia, Land Rover), Garatge Central (Ford), Autopodium (Seat, Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda), Interfren (Citroën), Fornells Motor (Hyundai), AM 94 (MG, Mitsubishi), Quadis Ebro, Tot Rodó, and Flexicar.

Strong Past Performance

Last year’s fair attracted around 7,000 visitors, led to 309 vehicle sales, and generated €6 million in turnover, according to figures reported by Girona Notícies and confirmed through event organisers.
