FiraTàrrega 2026 will take place in Tàrrega, in the Lleida region, from 10 to 13 September. The street arts festival will programme 57 shows from 56 companies, including 24 premieres, four of them Spanish debuts.
The line-up has a strong Catalan presence, with 32 companies from Catalonia, 14 from the rest of Spain and 11 international groups from nine countries. Theatre leads the programme with 24 shows, followed by dance and circus with 15 each.
Artistic director Anna Giribet said this edition is “fun, joyful, and very much a market, with eclectic proposals and varied formats aimed at all audiences”. The festival says it wants to offer a quality selection that can be programmed in different cultural and geographical settings, while keeping its role in the street arts sector.
The opening show will be Incontinuo by the Catalan company Kamchàtka, an immersive and participatory large-format piece about migration. It will be staged at Hort del Barceloní and will involve 80 to 100 volunteer newcomers to Tàrrega, as a tribute to people forced to leave home in search of a better life.
The programme is split into five thematic blocks. Among the works focused on celebration and community are Aquí by Llum de Fideu, which combines filming and projection, and Vero Cendoya’s Una brillant imperfecció (o mort d’un pianista), an inclusive dance and theatre piece that looks at disability from a new angle. In current affairs, Maduixa presents Dominaré, about abuse of power, while Pere Faura and Niels Bekius revisit collective LGTBI memory in Mètode rosa.
Humour also has a place in the line-up, with Securitas Service by Trasla2, a satire about two security guards, plus Truca Circus, which combines circus and flamenco, and Sarah Anglada’s clown solo about waste and dirt. Eight shows are aimed at family audiences, including Nuestro refugio galáctico by AzkonaToloza, which reflects on care for the planet, and Cia. Pagans’ Mala herba sempre creix, with an ecological focus.
The festival will also include the In Situ Focus, bringing together seven emerging European artists who work in public spaces. Among them are Cie. Jil Z from France with KMS of Resistance, about breathing and resistance, and Hyacinthe Hennae from Belgium with Parades, about sexual harassment in public spaces. Lleida will be represented by eight companies, including four from Segarra, and the programme includes premieres by Sound de Secà, Urko Maschinen, Alea Teatre, Glòria Ribera, Festuc Teatre, Xip Xap, Penique Productions and Cia. Apikipala.
FiraTàrrega expects around 1,200 accredited professionals from 300 entities and seven international delegations. The budget for this edition is €1,267,000, with 80.9% from public contributions, and advance tickets go on sale on 17 July with a 20% discount until 20 August via the official FiraTàrrega website.
