Figueres, in the Alt Empordà region, hosted a round table discussion where prominent figures Miquel Roca Junyent, Karina Gibert, and Sònia Mulero advocated for the city's capacity to generate, retain, and attract talent. The event, moderated by journalist Gemma Alegrí, took place at the Caputxins auditorium.
The discussion formed part of the "De Figueres al món" (From Figueres to the World) initiative. This programme was organised by five young people from Figueres with the aim of connecting students with local companies and opening a debate about professional opportunities in the Alt Empordà area.
Connecting Students and Businesses
The event received explicit support from Figueres City Council. It concluded with a direct meeting between students and representatives from fifteen companies based in the region, allowing for an exchange of knowledge and potential career paths.
The organisers hope that by bringing together students and businesses, the initiative will help bridge the gap between academic learning and professional employment within the Alt Empordà. This direct engagement is seen as a way to encourage young talent to consider local opportunities.
