Manresa’s ExpoBages fair is moving towards a long-term future at Avinguda Universitària, with talks already under way about keeping the event at the site after its second edition there.

There has been no official announcement yet, but the response so far points to a more stable base for the fair. Manresa councillor for commerce Tània Infante said on Saturday that the relocation from the city centre needed to be for the long haul, not just for a couple of years.

“If it moves, it cannot be for two years, it must have stability,” Infante said, according to reports.

The move to Avinguda Universitària marks a clear change for ExpoBages, which had previously been held in a central part of the city. The current discussions are focused on giving the fair a more permanent home, so organisers and participants can plan with greater certainty.

That stability is also seen as important for the fair’s growth and for its role in the local economy. Further details are expected as officials continue their talks about the event’s future in Manresa.
