A woman died on Friday night after her car left the C-17 road and overturned in Vic, Osona. The accident occurred at kilometre point 57.7 of the C-17, according to the Catalan Traffic Service.
Mossos d'Esquadra officers received the alert at 22:56. For reasons currently under investigation, the vehicle left the road and overturned. The driver, who was the sole occupant, died as a result of the incident.
Emergency services deployed several Mossos d'Esquadra patrols, two units from the Generalitat Fire Department, and two ambulances with psychological support from the Medical Emergency System (SEM).
Road Closures and Traffic Impact
The C-17 was closed following the accident, with traffic diverted through Vic. The road reopened at 4:30am on Saturday morning.
This fatality brings the provisional number of deaths on Catalan roads this year to 41, according to data from the Catalan Traffic Service.
