Barcelona is the focus this weekend as seven cycling influencers tour routes across the province from 22 to 24 May. The Diputació de Barcelona invited the creators, who specialise in cycle tourism, sports cycling and mountain biking, to try seven key routes and share the experience with their Instagram followers.
The initiative began on 21 May at La Fuga, a cycling-themed venue. The routes cover areas including Anoia, Bages, Baix Llobregat, Barcelonès, Berguedà, Garraf, Maresme, Moianès, Osona, Vallès Occidental and Vallès Oriental. The aim, according to the Diputació de Barcelona, is to promote the territory as a cycling tourism destination across Catalonia.
Among the participants, Sandra Jordà will ride the Llobregat Path in Baix Llobregat and Anoia, including a 30-kilometre family ride on Friday. Her itinerary includes Racó de Can Valentí in Santa Coloma de Cervelló, Finca Nano Farinetes in Sant Boi, Bart Burger Gastronòmic and an overnight stay at Hotel El Castell. On Saturday, she will reach the Llobregat Delta, stop for lunch at Xiringuito in El Prat de Llobregat, visit the CRAM Foundation and its Marine Animal Recovery Centre, then continue to the first 19 accessible kilometres of the Anoia Blue Way.
Vanessa García will begin in Osona and Garraf, starting at the Ter Museum with a scavenger hunt and a circular route from Manlleu to the Puig-Agut hermitage. She will have lunch at Restaurant Cal Batlle, then travel to Vic for its historic centre, dinner at Insòlit Vic and an overnight stay at Stances Vic, a Cycling Friendly certified accommodation. Her route then continues through the vineyards of Sitges, ending in Vilanova i la Geltrú with visits to the Railway Museum and Restaurant La Daurada.
Nil Puchol will ride the 44-kilometre Obac Tour from Rellinars, with a 600-metre elevation gain, before heading to Sabadell for lunch at Sibarius, a recovery massage at Club Natació Sabadell and an overnight stay at Hotel Catalonia Verdi. He will then cycle from Mataró to Santa Coloma, visit the Sant Jeroni Monastery and the Badalona Museum, eat at Tela Marinera in Badalona, and finish with cultural stops at Nau Gaudí and Casa Coll i Regàs in Mataró before lunch at Lasal del Varador.
Other participants include Guillem Bisbe, Laura Figueras and Maria Fontanals i Coll, who will take on routes in Moianès, Berguedà and Montseny, with stops at places such as Cardona Castle, the Salt Mountain, the Cíclick Festival exhibition at Lake Graugés, the Cercs Mines Museum and several local restaurants and hotels. The full programme also includes bikepacking and Romanesque art routes, with Aida Casares Gutiérrez among the creators taking part.
