The Cursa El Corte Inglés 2026 will be held in Barcelona on 10 May. This 46th edition of one of the city's most popular races aims to attract 40,000 registered participants, matching the limit set for the 2025 event. The race is a celebration of sport, allowing people to run or walk, and often serves as an introduction to popular races for many.
Registration for the Cursa El Corte Inglés 2026 is free and can be completed online, according to betevé. Participants must select a location, day, and time for bib collection from three El Corte Inglés stores: Diagonal, Plaça de Catalunya, or Can Dragó. Bibs can be collected between Monday 4 May and Saturday 9 May, from 9am to 9pm.
Route Details and Changes
For many years, the Cursa El Corte Inglés followed a well-established route, starting at Passeig de Gràcia, passing the Olympic Stadium in Montjuïc, and finishing at Plaça de Catalunya. However, a significant route change was introduced in 2022. The race distance was adjusted to an exact 10 kilometres, down from the previous 10.6 kilometres, which was an unusual distance for standard race circuits. The 2026 race will maintain this consolidated 10km distance.
The 2026 race will start on Avinguda Diagonal, directly in front of the El Corte Inglés store. It will proceed along Diagonal, passing Plaça de Francesc Macià and Plaça de Cinc d'Oros, before reaching Passeig de Gràcia. Runners will then head down Passeig de Gràcia, turning onto Carrer d'Aragó, Carrer de Viladomat, Gran Via, and Carrer de la Marina. From there, the route takes Carrer de Casp, concluding as usual in Plaça de Catalunya.
Supporting the Johan Cruyff Foundation
Since 1986, the Cursa El Corte Inglés has partnered with a local organisation. For its 46th edition, the affiliated charity is the Johan Cruyff Foundation. This foundation supports and develops sports projects for children in need around the world. Through initiatives like Cruyff Courts and Pati14, they create spaces for children, focusing on those for whom sport is not a guaranteed part of their lives. The foundation promotes adapted sports programmes and social transformation for children and young people with special needs globally, helping them to exercise and play sports.
