In Central Catalonia, the Geopark will host around 20 activities for European Geoparks Week from 23 May to 7 June. The programme includes workshops, guided tours, exhibitions and family events, with a focus on the area’s geological, natural and cultural heritage.

This is the sixth edition of the initiative, which organisers say aims to raise awareness of the territory’s value and encourage its conservation. Activities will take place across several municipalities in the Geopark, including Castellterçol, Moià, Balsareny, Navàs, Cardona, Manresa, Santpedor, Sant Fruitós de Bages, Súria and Navarcles.

Planned events include geology workshops for children, guided excursions on local landscapes, flora and fauna, photographic exhibitions and cultural itineraries. Family activities will also include geological scavenger hunts and workshops on creating a small geopark.

The European Geoparks Week is designed to help residents and visitors learn more about the region’s natural and cultural heritage, as well as environmental conservation. The Central Catalonia Geopark is a UNESCO-protected area recognised for its geology, scenery and culture.
