Five Barcelona water polo teams are entering the play-off stage of the men's División de Honor, with crucial matches determining the league title, European qualification, and relegation.
Club Natació Atlètic-Barceloneta and Club Natació Barcelona are among the four teams competing for the División de Honor title. These clubs finished in the top four during the regular season, securing their spots in the championship play-offs.
European Qualification Battles
Teams finishing between fifth and eighth position in the regular season will compete for the final spot in European competition. This includes three Catalan teams: Sant Andreu, Mataró, and Rubí, alongside Tenerife Echeyde from the Canary Islands. The semi-finals for this European place are now set.
Relegation Play-offs Underway
The bottom four teams from the regular season will fight to avoid relegation to the Primera Nacional. This group includes two Barcelona clubs, CE Mediterrani and CN Catalunya, along with Encinas Boadilla from Madrid and Caballa de Ceuta. Due to their tenth and eleventh place finishes respectively, CE Mediterrani and CN Catalunya will face each other in a Barcelona derby semi-final to determine who stays in the top division.
