Barcelona City Council inspectors have identified 31 illegal tourist flats in a single building in Horta-Guinardó, at Travessera de Gràcia 441. The property has a ground floor and nine upper levels.

The building also contains a licensed hotel on its upper floors. City officials said that, out of 24 residential units in the block, 19 already have official tourist licences.

The finding was made by the city’s Inspection Services Directorate (DSI) and forms part of Barcelona’s wider effort to regulate tourist accommodation and act against unlicensed rentals. The council has been tightening enforcement as it responds to pressure on housing and complaints linked to illegal tourist use.

Authorities continue to monitor properties across Barcelona and to act on both complaints and proactive checks. For more on local reporting, see our news coverage and our Barcelona coverage on city news.
