Barcelona’s intercity bus services will change this week because of Pope Leo XIV’s visit, the Catalan government said on Monday. The Department of Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition confirmed the adjustments as officials prepare for large crowds in the city.

The mobility measures will affect parts of Barcelona including Ciutat Vella, Sants-Montjuïc, the Raval and Eixample. For readers following wider local coverage, see our news page.

Alsina Graells services between Lleida and Barcelona, and between Berga and Barcelona, will move their Barcelona departure point from Passeig de Gràcia 36 to Estació del Nord. Their arrival points will stay the same.

Plana buses from Tarragona and other Costa Daurada locations will also change their Barcelona departure point, moving from Passeig de Gràcia 36 to Gran Via 588. Sagalés services on the Caldes de Montbui-Barcelona route will use Avenida Meridiana for both departures and arrivals.

The L0110 line between Barcelona and Montserrat will be suspended on Tuesday, 9 June, according to the government statement.

Travellers using these routes should check with their operator before setting off. The changes are linked to the Pope’s visit and the expected disruption around central Barcelona.
