Barcelona fans queued for days at the Olympic Stadium in Montjuïc ahead of Bad Bunny’s two concerts on Friday and Saturday, with thousands gathering outside the venue for access to the standing area.
Alejandro Gonell, 22, was the first to arrive on Wednesday afternoon, setting up a beach chair near the stadium. He marked the arms of the first 400 people with numbers to set the order of arrival, then helped with wristband distribution alongside security agents on Friday morning.
Eva, 18, from Mataró, held Gonell’s place while he rested and studied for her university entrance exams. She said she had been waiting for Bad Bunny since she was 9, when she heard the song Mayores on Spotify, and she was among the first to reach the front rows with wristband number 010.
The tour, named after Bad Bunny’s latest album De BÍ TiRAR MáS FOTos, includes 12 concerts in Spain. Two are in Barcelona this weekend, with ten more scheduled for Madrid between 30 May and 15 June. Tickets averaged around €150, while VIP packages and premium experiences, including Los Vecinos with a dedicated stand, cost more than €400.
Fans spent hours in the sun playing cards and sharing snacks. Many carried Puerto Rican flags and custom T-shirts, including a group from Lleida who travelled by bus with a line from Puerto Rican filmmaker Jacobo Morales’ song BAILE INoLVIDABLE written on their backs. Access to the stadium opened at 16:00, with Puerto Rican band Chuwi due on stage at 19:00, followed by two hours of Bad Bunny’s live show.
Jordi, who works for Nordeste, the company managing part of the stadium access, said Bad Bunny fans were “a bit more nervous and stressed” than those at the previous El Último de la Fila concert, but that everything was going ahead as expected and without incident. Bad Bunny, whose full name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, blends reggaeton, salsa and Latin jazz, and the show features la casita, a colourful Puerto Rican house used as a central stage element and VIP space.
The artist’s arrival also drove online interest. Milanuncios reported a 73% increase in Bad Bunny-related searches and a 116% rise in product listings over the last month. Bad Bunny also launched a 150-piece collection for Inditex called Benito Antonio, which went on sale on Wednesday as he arrived in Spain. He was seen leaving the Mandarin hotel on Passeig de Gràcia, while hundreds of fans gathered outside the hotel for days hoping to photograph him.
