Amposta's FabLab Terres de l'Ebre has been selected as a finalist in the Audi Crea awards for the third consecutive year. This year's project, LECO (Organic Circular Economy Laboratory), focuses on food waste and was chosen from over 600 submissions.

The Audi Crea awards are recognised as one of Spain's most prominent innovation and entrepreneurship competitions. The FabLab's consistent success solidifies its reputation as a leading centre for generating new ideas, particularly those linked to sustainability and the circular economy.

LECO Project Tackles Food Waste

The LECO project, developed by the FabLab Terres de l'Ebre, aims to tackle the significant issue of food waste. Its selection among the top 10 finalists highlights the project's potential impact and its innovative approach to a pressing environmental concern. The initiative is part of the Amposta City Council's efforts to promote sustainable practices.

The grand final will take place in Barcelona on 26 and 27 June. Finalist teams will compete for a training scholarship, which includes a trip to the United States. The Amposta City Council is encouraging residents to support the LECO project by voting, as public votes could be decisive in the event of a tie during the final stages of the competition.
