Local businesses in Valls have launched their annual Christmas campaign, "Compra a Valls, rasca i guanya" (Shop in Valls, scratch and win), which will distribute over 4,000 instant prizes and shopping vouchers to encourage local purchases during the festive season.
From 1 December 2025 to 5 January 2026, participating shops will give out 40,000 scratch cards to customers spending €10 or more. This initiative, led by Valls City Council's Department of Commerce with support from Comerç de Valls (Valls Shopkeepers' Union), aims to strengthen local commerce, build customer loyalty, and attract new shoppers.
The campaign seeks to support city businesses by encouraging the purchase of products and services, making the most of the Christmas atmosphere. Scratch cards offer a variety of prizes that can be redeemed immediately or collected at the Tourist Office, as well as entry into a grand final draw with special awards.
Instant Prizes and Vouchers
Among the instant prizes are shopping vouchers worth €3, €5, €10, €20, and €50, which can be used directly with the winning scratch card. The campaign also includes various gifts and experiences, such as BRA kitchen utensils, bottles of vermouth, 2-for-1 and single tickets for JCA Cinema in Valls, and Christmas decorations.
These material prizes can be collected at the Tourist Office, located at C/ de la Cort, 3, by presenting the winning scratch card and purchase receipt. Collection hours are Monday to Saturday from 9am to 2pm and 5pm to 7pm, and Sundays from 10am to 2pm.
Grand Draw on 7 January
Customers whose scratch cards do not win an instant prize will get a second chance in a special draw on 7 January 2026. This draw will offer a wide range of additional prizes, including vouchers of at least €50 to spend at participating establishments, a year of cinema for two people, dinner at the Sant Joan bell tower, beauty treatments, and vouchers for 10 activities at the Municipal Sports Board.
The draw will take place at the Tourist Office, with representatives from Comerç de Valls and participating businesses present. The winning numbers will be announced on 8 January 2026 on the municipal website, social media channels, and the Tourist Office noticeboard. Shopping vouchers from this draw can be redeemed until 28 February 2026 and are cumulative.
Around eighty local businesses across the city are taking part in the "Compra a Valls, rasca i guanya" campaign. Through this initiative, Valls City Council and Comerç de Valls are reinforcing their commitment to commercial revitalisation, encouraging residents to celebrate Christmas by valuing the local neighbourhood shops that serve as a mark of identity and trust, making them an economic and social driver for the city during the holidays.
