Valls, in Tarragona, has changed parts of its Sant Joan Festival programme for late June, with updates to timings, routes and formats for several events. The changes affect the human castle events on 23 and 24 June, as well as the Solemn Office.

The city council and the Ceremonial Entourage Board said the adjustments are being made with respect for the festival’s essence and to fit the needs of the groups taking part, while keeping the public in mind.

The main focus is on the events expected to draw the biggest crowds, especially the traditional human castle displays, which are a central part of the Sant Joan celebrations in Valls.

Officials say the aim is to improve the experience for both participants and spectators by making the event flow and timings work better. Further details on the new timings and routes are expected closer to the festival dates.
