The Local Housing Office (OLH) in Valls is providing advice and management services for several aid programmes launched by the Catalan Housing Agency. Currently, the Catalan government has opened applications for rent payment assistance for young people up to 35 years old. It also offers subsidies for property renovations for homes where elderly individuals live.

Support for Elderly Home Renovations
Applications for subsidies for interior home renovations for elderly people are open until 30 September. This aid programme is for households that include at least one person aged 65 or over. This individual must have their usual or permanent residence in the home being renovated, and the works must directly benefit them.
To qualify, the property must be the applicant's habitual residence. In addition to age, the beneficiary must meet one of the following conditions: lack sufficient autonomy for activities like hygiene, eating, or mobility; have a disability rating of 33% or more; or receive a permanent disability pension classified as total, absolute, or severe. The aid also considers the maximum income of the household.
This programme provides up to €4,000 per home, with a maximum project budget of €8,000, including VAT. The aid covers repairs to deteriorated exterior openings, adjustments to hazardous flooring, and adaptations to current installation regulations. It also supports bathroom renovations and improvements to internal accessibility within the home.
Rent Payment Assistance for Young People
Another aid programme, open until 11 July, offers support for rent payments for young people up to 35 years old. For these applicants, contract rents cannot exceed €700 per home or €350 per room. However, for large families, single-parent families, or households with a legally recognised disabled member with reduced mobility, the maximum rent limit is €900. The monthly aid amount can range from €20 to €250.
In this case, the OLH also offers advice and manages the subsidy application process for interested individuals. These initiatives reflect the government's ongoing efforts to address housing needs across different demographics in Catalonia.
