Valls is hosting the second edition of its “De pista en pista” (From Clue to Clue) campaign from 9 to 21 March, an initiative by Comerç de Valls in collaboration with Valls Juga, the Camp de Tarragona Game Festival. This programme combines games, shopping, and city discovery, aiming to revitalise local establishments and encourage residents to explore the streets in a fun way.
The campaign features a clue game spread across 25 shops in Valls. Participants must solve questions, riddles, or hieroglyphs related to Valls' history and its emblematic features. For example, some challenges ask about the founding year of the Valls Agricultural Cooperative, considered the oldest in Catalonia, or the founder of the Mossos d'Esquadra in Valls, among other local enigmas.
How to Participate and Win
To take part, individuals need to get a game leaflet, which contains 25 spaces corresponding to the participating shops. These leaflets are available at the Chamber of Commerce, the Trade and Tourism Office, the Carles Cardó Library, the Civic Centre, as well as at Tram Bookshop and Gasco Juguets toy shop.
Each participating shop hides a clue. Once a participant provides the correct answer, the shop stamps the corresponding space on their leaflet. Completed leaflets can be deposited in urns at participating shops or handed in on 21 March during the Valls Juga festival, which will be held at the Kursaal hall.
Three sets of board games will be raffled among all participants. The draw and prize ceremony will take place on 21 March at 17:45 in the Kursaal hall. The campaign targets all residents, especially families, hoping to encourage both adults and children to walk Valls' streets, visit local shops, and uncover interesting facts about the city.
Boosting Local Commerce
Lourdes García, president of Comerç de Valls, and Rocío Martínez, councillor for Commerce at Valls City Council, highlighted the importance of such activities. They stated these actions help to energise local trade and promote citizen participation. The Valls Juga festival, which inspired this collaboration, will also conclude on 21 March.
