Valls, the capital of Alt Camp, is preparing for the Gran Festa de la Calçotada, set for Sunday, 25 January 2026. This gastronomic event, which makes Valls a culinary centre, will feature a new image full of colour, energy, and symbolism.

The official poster for the Gran Festa de la Calçotada is an original creation by Cambrils artist David Callau. Callau is known for his expressive style and his ability to convey emotion through colour and movement. He previously worked with the Valls Chamber of Commerce on the Calçotada Forum and now brings his personal touch to the main festival.

Callau's artwork shows two faces sharing the pleasure of local produce, with a strong focus on calçots, the iconic and central element of the festival. Using vivid tones and strong brushstrokes, the artist aimed to reflect the essence of Valls, its passion for gastronomy, and the festive spirit that defines this centuries-old tradition, which originated in the town.

New Visual Identity and Sponsors

The new graphic image will appear on all festival communication materials and marks the start of the promotional campaign for the Gran Festa de la Calçotada 2026. The poster will be shown for the first time at the Multisectoral Fair in Andorra la Vella this weekend, from 24 to 26 October.

Domenio, the wine and cava brand from Cellers Domenys, joins as a new official sponsor for this year's festival. This historic cooperative joins Europastry, which has supported the event for three years, and Salses Fruits, the longest-standing sponsor with seven years of involvement. These three local companies will have a prominent presence in the Calçotada's promotional campaigns, strengthening their commitment to Catalonia's most popular and recognised gastronomic event.

More details about the programme will be announced soon. The schedule will include traditional demonstrations of grilling calçots, a calçotada market, and competitions for growers, sauce makers, and calçot eaters. There will also be a public tasting and other festive activities.

Organisers and Collaborators

The Gran Festa de la Calçotada de Valls is organised by the Valls Chamber of Commerce and Valls City Council. It receives support from official sponsors Salses Fruits, Europastry, and Domenio. Collaborators include the IGP Calçot de Valls, the Valls Agricultural Cooperative, DO Tarragona, Comerç de Valls, the Costa Daurada Tourism Board, the Tarragona Provincial Council, and the Port of Tarragona.

Salses Fruits S&P is a family business from Figuerola del Camp, Alt Camp, with over 40 employees. It produces more than 80 artisan food products, including Valls calçot sauce and allioli. The company's philosophy for over twenty years has been to use local products like nuts and vegetables, according to officials. Their products are available in many retail outlets across the region and beyond.

Europastry is a family business specialising in frozen bakery products. The company aims to transform baking while respecting artisan traditions and pursuing innovation. Today, Europastry operates in over 80 countries, with more than 5,000 bakers, 27 production plants, and 30 commercial offices.

Domenio, the wine and cava brand of Cellers Domenys, takes its name from a place first documented in 938. Its symbol, the Roman arches of the Sant Jaume dels Domenys aqueduct, represents a territory with Roman roots and strong traditions linked to historical Penedès routes.

Cellers Domenys has become one of the most important and established cooperatives in south-east Catalonia. It formed from the merger of eight cooperative wineries: Sant Jaume dels Domenys, Banyeres del Penedès, Bellvei, and La Bisbal del Penedès (Penedès); Rodonyà (Alt Camp); and Blancafort, Pira, and Rocafort de Queralt (Conca de Barberà).

In Rocafort de Queralt, the cooperative maintains a valuable heritage item: the first Modernist winery designed by César Martinell, a disciple of Antoni Gaudí. The Domenys Foundation is working to restore it, planning to turn it into a Cultural Centre for Wine, Cooperativism, and César Martinell, honouring the history and values that have helped the cooperative grow. Cellers Domenys has 700 members managing about 2,600 hectares, including 2,117 hectares of vineyards and 438 hectares of olive groves. It produces Domenio wines and cavas and oils under five designations of origin: Catalunya, Cava, Conca de Barberà, Penedès, and Siurana. Its work is based on values of cooperation, participation, innovation, and social responsibility.
