Tiana Plenary Addresses Key Local Issues
The Municipal Plenary of Tiana convened today at 6 PM in the Plenary Hall, with proceedings available for live viewing via YouTube. The session covered a range of administrative and policy matters, including waste management, credit modifications, and political motions from municipal groups. Among the key agenda items was the discussion of motions presented by Junts per Catalunya and Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya. Junts per Catalunya proposed revising the local traffic and road safety ordinance and called for an economic and financial audit of the City Council. Esquerra Republicana introduced motions concerning the change of use of assets for the water supply service and urgent maintenance of the municipal sports complex.
Council Rejects Motions on Audit and Water Assets
Despite formal submission, the plenary rejected both the motion for a financial audit and the proposal regarding water service assets. No further details were provided on the voting breakdown or specific reasons for rejection. Other resolutions adopted during the meeting included approval of the management of selective municipal waste collection and street cleaning services, as well as credit modifications related to the purchase of shares in TERSA (Waste Treatment and Selection, S.A.) and adjustments to the APROPA’T agreement. The council also finalised approval of the justification report for its participation in TERSA and modified the internal Alert System operating regulations. Appeals for reconsideration were addressed regarding the change of use of a plot at Carrer de Cals Frares, 29-33.
Public Questions and Ongoing Local Concerns
A public question-and-answer session followed, during which municipal groups and the non-attached councillor raised issues including traffic access to Ciutadella, support for families in need, parking works, the energy community initiative, the fish square project, and home care services. Residents are able to follow future plenary sessions live through the official Diari de Catalunya coverage and municipal communications channels.
