Tarragona’s Urban Guard arrested a 58-year-old man last Wednesday after a vehicle break-in in Cala Romana. The force’s Drone Unit, known as UDRON, detected the crime as it was happening and helped coordinate the response.
The drone provided real-time tracking of the suspect and guided officers on the ground to his location. Police say this allowed them to respond quickly and arrest the man, who is accused of theft with force inside a vehicle.
The case shows how the Urban Guard is using aerial surveillance in day-to-day policing in Tarragona. Drones can give officers a clearer view of active incidents and help ground units act more efficiently and safely.
