Tarragona, the Tarragona Provincial Council has opened a €2 million grant call for federated sport across Camp de Tarragona, Terres de l’Ebre and Baix Penedès, the southern and coastal areas of the province. The scheme was announced on 10 June 2026 and is aimed at clubs, federations and sports bodies.

The main consequence for applicants is simple, the deadline is 31 July 2026, and requests must be submitted through the council’s Services Guide website. The council also has a separate €1.4 million line for singular sports activities, with applications open until 8 July 2026 through the electronic headquarters and the Services Guide Dipta, according to the council.

What the council is funding

According to the Tarragona Provincial Council, the call has three lines. Dipta says the first, Alta competició, supports high-level sports entities, including teams in regular federated competitions in football 11, futsal, basketball, volleyball and roller hockey, among other disciplines.

The second line, Participació en esdeveniments esportius federats, is for entities that have qualified for absolute-category competition at Spanish, European or world championships organised by their federations. It also covers absolute teams taking part in the King’s or Queen’s Cups, according to the council.

Who can apply and what to do next

The third line, Organització d’esdeveniments esportius federats d’especial rellevància, is for entities, sports clubs, federations and sports limited companies in the province. It covers official Spanish and international championships recognised by sports federations, as long as the eligible budget is at least €75,000, plus other events with significant territorial impact that meet the same minimum budget.

That separate €1.4 million line is aimed at non-profit organisations and can fund public sports events such as awards ceremonies, championships, sports days, tournaments, marches and marathons. It also covers cultural or civic-interest activities linked to anniversaries, commemorations or special dates, plus adapted and inclusive sports activities. Clubs and organisations in Camp de Tarragona, Terres de l’Ebre and Baix Penedès should check the council’s official notice before applying, because the two deadlines are different and the eligibility rules vary by funding line. The council says applications must be filed online, so applicants should prepare the required documentation in advance.
