Families and their pets gathered in Tarragona for the 11th annual Dog Walk, known locally as the Passejada de Gossos. Organised by the Col·legi de Veterinaris de Tarragona (Veterinary College of Tarragona), the event offered a chance for residents to enjoy the city with their dogs.
The walk started at 10:30am from Parc Saavedra, which also served as the finish line. Participants completed a 3.25-kilometre route, taking in several of Tarragona's well-known landmarks.
The itinerary included sections of Avinguda Catalunya, the URV's Campus Catalunya, Plaça Imperial Tàrraco, and Rambla Nova, leading to the Balcó del Mediterrani. The route continued along Passeig de les Palmeres and Rambla Vella before returning to Parc Saavedra.
Family Activities Conclude Event
After the walk, participants took part in a family 'gimcana', a series of games and challenges. This activity allowed dog owners to show off their pets' skills and enjoy further interaction with other attendees. The event aims to promote responsible pet ownership and community engagement through a fun, active programme.
This annual tradition highlights the bond between families and their animals, encouraging outdoor activity in Tarragona's urban spaces. The Veterinary College of Tarragona continues its work in organising events that bring pet owners together.
