Friday Brings Unstable Weather
Barcelona faces its most unstable weather of the week on Friday 21 August, with alternating clear skies and cloud cover. There is a 100% probability of rainfall during the 12–24 hour period, according to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) 7-day forecast. Maximum temperatures will reach around 28°C, with minimums near 21°C.
Saturday and Sunday: Continued Rain, Slight Cooling
The risk of rain persists on Saturday 22 August, with an 85% chance of precipitation during both morning and evening hours. Maximum temperatures are expected to drop slightly to 26°C, with minimums around 20°C. On Sunday 23 August, rainfall probability remains high at 85%, and temperatures stay steady at 26°C maximum.
The heatwave has broken, but humidity remains high. These storms will bring temporary relief but also potential for localised downpours.
Return to Stability from Monday
From Monday 24 August, conditions will gradually stabilise. Rainfall probability drops sharply, skies will clear, and temperatures are forecast to rise again, approaching 30°C by midweek.
Current Conditions: High Humidity, Hot Days
On Tuesday 18 August, Barcelona recorded a maximum temperature of 33°C, with a 'feels like' temperature of 37°C due to high humidity. Minimums hovered around 27°C, marking the 46th consecutive night above 25°C, the longest such stretch this summer. Skies were overcast in the morning, becoming partly cloudy by late afternoon. AEMET currently lists no weather warnings for the Barcelona coastal area, despite the ongoing heat and humidity.
