Tarragona’s Guardia Urbana has recovered a stolen bicycle valued at €2,250 and arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with the case.

The theft took place on the night of 17 May, when a thief broke into a vehicle parked on the València road, near the Torreforta neighbourhood, and took the bicycle. The owner later reported the theft to police.

On 27 May, the victim contacted the Guardia Urbana after finding a bicycle that matched theirs listed for sale on a well-known online marketplace. Officers checked the details and confirmed it was the stolen bike.

Police then organised an operation in the Campclar neighbourhood to recover it. The operation involved plainclothes and uniformed officers from the Basic Investigation Unit (UIB), the Complaints Reception Office (ORD), and the Territorial Security Unit (UST).

The operation ended at around 4.15pm on 29 May with the recovery of the bicycle and the arrest of the suspect on suspicion of handling stolen goods. The bicycle was later returned to its owner, according to officials.
