Roses is set for a busy summer as the Sons del Món music festival has already sold 14,000 of its 34,000 available tickets for its 19th edition, according to organisers. The festival runs from 25 July to 21 August and will stage around 30 performances.

The main stage will be at the Ciutadella, with other shows planned for DO Empordà wineries and the festival’s Village area. Promoters say they want to give the Village a stronger programme this year. For more local coverage, see our news page.

Headline acts include Pablo Alborán, who will open the festival. Other Catalan artists on the line-up include Joan Dausà, Lax'n'busto, Gossos and Els Amics de les Arts, who will share the stage with Blaumut and Ramon Mirabet.

The 19th edition also includes three artists who will perform exclusively at Sons del Món in Catalonia this summer: Rosana, Sergio Dalma and Niña Pastori. That gives festivalgoers a chance to see those acts in the region during this season.
