Solsona celebrated a lively Sant Jordi on 23 April 2026, with streets full of people visiting stalls selling books, roses, and craft products in the city centre.
Mayor Judit Gisbert toured the city centre that morning, accompanied by Patrícia Alonso, Director of Territorial Services for Local Administration in Central Catalonia. They observed the activities of social and cultural entities that had set up stalls for the festival. This year's event maintained the same number of stalls as last year, representing the local community.
Three florists, three bookshops, and three educational centres occupied the public space. Local authors Toni Fernández, Alba Bernadó, and Joan Obiols shared their works with visitors. Two artisans, a winery, around ten social entities, and a political party also participated.
New Initiatives and Community Participation
Among the new additions, some local entities introduced fresh proposals. At Portal del Castell, the cooperatives L'Arada and Territori de Masies set up a stall featuring publications and local products. This area also hosted an open microphone session dedicated to poetry, stories, and texts, with sessions held at midday and in the afternoon. Residents took part, sharing readings and interventions.
Alonso highlighted the presence of craft initiatives and the strong participation of the associative network. She noted that the day once again filled the city centre with cultural and commercial offerings, according to officials.
The successful turnout and diverse participation show the enduring popularity of Sant Jordi in Solsona, reinforcing its role as a key cultural and community event for the region.
