Solsona's Cine París is celebrating the first anniversary of its reopening this weekend, having welcomed over 18,300 viewers since it resumed operations. The cinema had been forced to close in 2020 due to the pandemic, according to local reports.
Over the past year, the venue has screened around 200 films. These figures are close to the viability projections made by Solsona City Council. Albert Colell, the Culture Councillor, described the outcome as "very positive."
Community Effort Keeps Cinema Running
The Associació d'Amigues i Amics del Cine París (Association of Friends of Cine París) manages the cinema. Its operations rely on the dedication of approximately one hundred volunteers. The association has called the response from both volunteers and audiences "extraordinary."
The most popular film screened since the reopening has been 'Balandrau'. The continued success of Cine París highlights the strong community support for cultural venues in Solsona.
