Two men, aged 40 and 55, were arrested in Solsona, in the Lleida area of Catalonia, last Friday after aluminium bars were allegedly stolen from three trailers in an industrial estate.

The Mossos d'Esquadra worked with Cardona Local Police after the theft was reported. Officers set up a traffic control point on the C-55 road and stopped a vehicle matching the description, although no stolen material was found inside at that time, according to the Catalan police.

Both men were taken to the Manresa police station. Later, Mossos d'Esquadra officers found the stolen aluminium bars, valued at more than €2,000, hidden in a disused section of the old C-55 road.

The police returned the material to its owner. The case adds to ongoing efforts by police to tackle theft in industrial estates across Catalonia.
